New Zealand’s 39th national science fiction, fantasy and horror conference, Conclave III, will he held at the Surrey Hotel in New Lynn, Auckland over Easter weekend. Guests include Steve Wheeler, Karen Miller and our own Lynn McConchie.
Here’s my schedule for the conference.
Saturday 1pm Book Launch: Te Korero Ahi Ka, a speculative anthology.
Includes readings of poetry and prose from contributors. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
Saturday 3 pm Panel: Other Voices
Science Fiction is no longer confined to works in English from Western Countries, if it ever was. What should you look for, and can you get it in English?
Sunday 11am Panel: Funny Space ‒ Fools in SF & F
It’s April Fools Day… so let’s discuss the foolish, the silly and the downright funny side of SF&F!
Sunday 9pm Event: Sir Julius Vogel Awards Ceremony
New Zealand’s Science Fiction and Fantasy Community votes on literary and fan awards in various categories. This year my supernatural crime noir novel Hounds of the Underworld (co-authored with Dan Rabarts) is a finalist for Best Novel. The full list of finalists can be found here.
Finally, as the Programme Director for GeyserCon, 2019, I'll be joining Chair Grace Bridges in announcing Guests of Honour and conference activities for the 40th national science fiction, fantasy and horror convention to be held over Queen's Birthday weekend, 1-4 June, 2019.
A full list of Conclave III's conference events is included here.
